Interflora, a British
floral company has been forced to issue more than 100 apologies after consumers
started citing complains on social networking websites. It is said that the
bouquets ordered from Interflora were simply dumped at the doorsteps; some of
them infested with bugs and some did not appear at all.
There are hundreds of
angry consumers from all across the world. People bought expensive flowers for
their mothers, for the Mother’s Day celebrations in Britain. Most consumers got
a confirmation email that their requested flowers have been delivered, which
was never the case. It left the daughters in tears, while the mothers eagerly
waited for the flowers.
Everyone wanted to
make their mothers feel special, only if the flowers could have arrived on
time. When they tried to reach the floral agency, they kept saying that the
flowers were delivered and a small percentage of the orders had a problem. With
more than 300 people complaining about the flower bouquets, it seems to be a
lame excuse.
Online forums and
social networking sites were filled with complains over flower deliveries. A
customer called Margaret Hall took the issue on Facebook, complaining that the
flowers shown on the web pages are very different from the ones, which are
actually delivered.
Interflora just sent
out a simple message to all the upset customers “Please accept our heartfelt
apologies and someone from the customer service team will look into this”.
There was no statement issued by the company, despite making multiple attempts
to reach them.
